WHAT IS Gypsum Underlayment?
Gypsum Underlayment is a mixture of gypsum plaster, Portland cement and sand. It is commonly used for wood-frame and concrete construction structures as a floor underlayment meaning that it’s the layer that sits between wood subfloor and the floor covering of a building.

Fire resistance - Gypsum Underlayment is fire retardant! This is because it has crystallized water, so when it’s exposed to extremely high temperatures it evaporates; cooling and slowing down heat transmission.

Durability - Gypsum Underlayment is very similar to concrete and is very resistant to cracks. It is a great and reliable alternative to concrete.
